Mitra Weissman
RD, CNSC, CDE

Mitra completed her education and training in human nutrition and dietetics at The University of British Columbia, and completed her clinical dietetic internship in Vancouver, Canada.

Her clinical experience working as both a pediatric and adult dietitian has included working in cardiology, diabetes, nephrology, and gastroenterology within inpatient and outpatient settings. Over the years, she has undergone additional specialization credentialing to provide the best care to individuals across all life stages.

On top of her clinical work, Mitra has a strong interest in culinary nutrition education and is an avid home cook. She merges her work as a dietitian with her experience as a kids cooking instructor to offer nutrition-focused hands-on cooking classes.

Dr. Cory Weissman
MD, PhD

Dr. Weissman is a board-certified psychiatrist and the Medical Director of Interventional Psychiatry at UC San Diego. Dr. Weissman is passionate about using neuroscience to personalize psychiatric care and improve outcomes for patients with complex needs. His research focuses on developing novel treatments for suicide prevention and exploring the role of psychedelic therapies in depression and suicidality. 

In addition to interventional approaches, Dr. Weissman is deeply interested in nutritional and preventative psychiatry. He believes that factors such as diet, lifestyle, and inflammation play a crucial role in brain health. He advocates for a more holistic, integrative approach to mental health that addresses both biological and environmental drivers of illness.

He is excited to help guide the San Diego Dietitians team integrating mental health and nutrition to support whole-person care.
